About Kakuda City
The City of Kakuda is steeped in history and natural beauty. Kakuda is perhaps most famous for being the home to one of Japan's leading space research and technological development facilities: The Kakuda Space Center. Research is primarily focused on propulsion systems used in rockets that launch satellites.
Daiyama Park, which is centrally located in the downtown area, features the Space Tower (an observation tower designed to look like a launch pad), the Cosmo House (a space museum), and a full-scale model of an H-II Rocket standing 49 meters.
The City of Kakuda lies on the Abukuma Express Line which gives access to and from Kakuda by train.
